Beach Fossils and Turnover are coming to the 9:30 Club

Staying in the College Park area for Thanksgiving and need something to occupy your Saturday night? Look no further, as Beach Fossils are playing an early show at the 9:30 Club on Nov. 25 with support from Turnover as a part of their record release tour for their new album Bunny.
Beach Fossils are an indie rock band based out of Brooklyn, New York, who have been releasing music as a band since 2010. Notable for their indie dream pop sound that ruled many of our listening habits in the late 2010s, their fourth full-length album Somersault, released in 2017, has been cemented into the indie canon as a hallmark of laid-back indie pop. Fans can expect to hear well-known songs like “Down the Line” and “May 1st,” along with even more nostalgic favorites such as “Sleep Apnea” and “What a Pleasure”.
Beach Fossils released their first full-length album since Somersault this past June. The album, called Bunny, has been praised by critics as having a sharper production focus as well as being a more mature and chilled out take on their past sound. Similar artists to Beach Fossils include Real Estate, No Vacation and Innerwave. Even if you haven’t listened in a while, their set is sure to please both old and new fans.
Opening for Beach Fossils is the just as iconic band Turnover, whose 2015 album Peripheral Vision has also gone down into 2010s indie music history as a formative body of music. This will be Turnover’s second time performing at the 9:30 Club in the past year, as they stopped there last December on a headlining tour for their most recent album Myself in the Way. Known for a rockier sound than Beach Fossils, audiences can expect an energizing set before chilling out with the headlining band. Fans of Turnover can expect to hear hits such as “Take My Head” and “Humming” from their earlier album.
Regardless of if you are a devoted fan of either of these bands, or simply an enjoyer of good indie and alternative rock, this show is sure to scratch an itch in the 2010s, converse-wearing, art kid part of your brain.
