Blushing on the Battfield of Lost Love with Billy Raffoul

\tAnyone who has achieved perfection knows they did not control it, nor did they not create it, but rather they gave it the space to let it exist within imperfection. To the common person February 16th of 2023 was a normal Thursday, a day of waiting for the freedom of Friday, to fans of Billy Raffaoul attending his show at union stage, Thursday WAS freedom. The dawn of Billy’s show felt familiar to daffodils and dandelions, in other words, the crowd was immersed in an inspiring yellow. As if in sync with mother nature, Billy’s voice brought a brief yet indescribably beautiful sunset, the room now ferociously red and coated with compassion. As an artist, Billy is unparalleled, creating a class of his own, his excellence lies in his ability to close the bridge between performer and participant. Sympathetic to our soul’s emotions, Billy walked with us, he held our hand and prepared us for what was yet to come. The heavy sound of Billy's voice broke our hurt, as if the clouds would echo our fears, freeing us from pains of the past. The minutes went by, but the moment lasted, especially for the newlyweds who notified the entire audience that their wedding song was one of Billy’s. Post proclamation Billy announced “this one goes out to Maggie!”, as I glanced around the room I was in awe as audience members blushed at the praise of their own loveliness. After sampling the sentiments of love we were hit with a flash of “Forever”, otherwise known as reality. We’ve all walked the line between hate and love, balancing our beauty for bad, but only a few of us have felt the tension between delusion and infatuation. Billy gets it, he has somehow made a song about the mystical backrooms of our mind. If the descriptive sound of man’s misery wasn't enough the setting certainly was, what was once known as Union Stage was now suffocating by the scent of our sadness. Smoke, filled with the flames of feelings took over, creating a greatly symbolic battlefield of lost love
