'There’s so much to do here': Students scour the First Look Fair

As students pushed their way through the crowd of people at the University of Maryland's First Look Fair on Friday, hundreds of student organizations tried to recruit new members.
For new students, the fair provided an opportunity to see how they can get involved.
“I think the first look fair was a great way for us to get a look at all the involvement on campus, and I think everyone should come out,” said Freshman Bria Hong.
Returning students also found value in attending this year’s fair.
“The first two years, I haven't been as involved as I probably could be. So, showing up this year, I’m trying to get more involved,” said Junior C.J. Creamer.
While many clubs provide a fun aspect, some students seemed interested in joining organizations that helped them with their academics.
“I did want to come see the Kinesiology Student Organization. As a kinesiology student, I think getting more involved in my major is important,” Creamer added.
The fair offered students across grade levels an opportunity to come out and engage with the campus.
“I think the first look fair is one of the best places to get involved at UMD. There’s so much to do here. Personally, I want to do more stuff that can help me for pre-med and just help me become a better person,” said Junior Armand Ghozati.
