In search of an upbeat Friday night jam sesh to catch a break from finals? Join Turnover when they come to the 9:30 club to debut their newest album on December 16. Rock bands Riki and Video Age are the opening acts, setting the stage for a great night to share their discography.

Turnover is a rock band from Virginia Beach that formed in 2009. The band released their first self-titled album, aptly named Turnover, two years later in 2011. Turnover then signed to Run for Cover Records in 2012 and have toured several times throughout the last several years, alongside with bands such as Light Years, Diamond Youth, and Ivy League.

Turnover 25-date tour in early 2015 with New Found Glory brought the announcement of their first studio album. The band released the album on Peripheral Vision, containing their most popular singles “Dizzy On the Countdown” and “Cutting My Fingers Off” in May 2015.

Two years later in 2017, after the band had dropped down from four to three of their original members, they released their third album, Good Nature, filled with chill, summery beats. Their lead single, Super Natural, was released as a preview to the album.

They released their fourth studio album, Altogether, in 2019. It contained tracks such as “Valley of the Moon” and “Much After Feeling.”

During this tour, Turnover will be premiering their most recent release, Myself in the Way. Keep a listening ear out for popular tracks, “Tears of Change,” “Mountains Made of Clouds,” and “Ain’t Love Heavy.”

Turnover’s style can be described as indie rock, dream pop, and even shoegaze. Similar artists include Alvvays, Beach Fossils, Mom Jeans, and Soccer Mommy. Turnover’s discography is the perfect soundtrack to conclude a summer evening with a vibrant summer. It’ll be a perfect vibe to light up a cold December evening. Turnover’s show on Dec. 16 will surely not disappoint.
