First, On November 2, WMUC Radio is hosting a presentation of Burn to Shine 3: Portland, a documentary about bands and musicians from Portland, Oregon, in the Prince George's Room in the Stamp Student Union. This is the most recent release in the Burn to Shine series, directed by Washington, DC-based filmmaker Brendan Canty, who may be best known as the drummer in DC punk group Fugazi. Burn to Shine 3 features performances from 11 Portland-based artists, including Sleater-Kinney, the Shins, the Decemberists, Mirah, the Gossip, and more. More information on the film is available at trixiedvd.com [www.trixiedvd.com]. The screening will start at 8pm and will be followed by a Q&A Session.
