Thanksgiving fun starts early as Weston Estate performs at The Fillmore on Nov. 25, with support from Ivri and Souly Had. This performance marks the second-to-last show of their Superbloom tour, promoting their upcoming EP release.
Weston Estate, self-branded as "ya aunty's favorite boy band," is a North Carolina-based group that found viral success during the pandemic. The alternative indie band, formed by childhood friends, began releasing music in 2019. Their creative process is highly collaborative, featuring in-house production by band member Abhi Manhass. Their 2021 single "Pears" blends indie pop with electronic elements, pairing upbeat melodies with introspective lyrics that explore themes of self-doubt and relationships during COVID-19. The song was featured on the Netflix hit show "Never Have I Ever." The band released their first EP "Maggie Valley" in 2022, followed by singles such as "Camouflage" and "I Saw Something" earlier this year.
Opening acts Ivri and Souly Had bring their own distinct styles. Ivri, an emerging indie artist with R&B influences, captivates audiences with haunting, angelic vocals. Fans can expect songs from their new album "The Star Factory." Souly Had, an artist from upstate New York, recently released his debut album "sounds like you're still here." Drawing from his producer background, he seamlessly blends hip-hop with soulful melodies. Both opening acts showcase unique voices in the indie and R&B genres.
In the two singles released from the upcoming "Superbloom" EP, Weston Estate returns to their musical roots. The tracks feature smooth, mellow beats with a calm ambiance. At Monday's show, audiences can expect an energetic performance (with band members often switching positions), featuring their hit songs and possibly some new surprise tracks.
