Now that your class schedule has shaken out, it's time to GET INVOLVED!

University of Maryland's own student-run freeform FM radio station, WMUC 88.1, will be hosting its semesterly Open House this Wednesday and Thursday at 6:30 pm.

Come on down to 3130 South Campus Dining Hall to find out what REAL COLLEGE RADIO is all about!
...
We've got opportunities for:

On-Air Talent

Want to get on the air? Of course you do! Now with our new webstream, WMUC2, we have more available airtime than ever)... but you've still gotta earn it! We're freeform radio, which means you, the DJ, decide what goes on the air, but you've gotta make it interesting! Come prepared with show ideas - if you had your own weekly gig, what would you do with it? Music, talk, comedy, public affairs, insect noises? (seriously, it's been done) You'll learn about our audition process, how to deal with the burden of radio fame, and what it takes to be a great DJ!

Sports

WMUC's Sports department is an entire division of its own within the larger WMUC operation, and offers lots of opportunities for new students to get on the air, whether it's calling games or hosting Sports talk shows. Click over to WMUCSports.com to learn more!

Promotions and Marketing

What? You didn't know know that the University of Maryland has a radio station??? Well, you're not the only one, and we're looking for new and interesting ways to fix that. Help us spread the good word of freeform college radio, and how we're looking to make WMUC a bigger part of student life here in College Park.

Production and Recording

Learn the fine art of recording in our Pro Tools-equipped 24-track studio. Are you a musician who wants to lay down some tracks, or know some and want to help them? The only way you'll learn is by doing it, and you can do just that at WMUC!

Engineering

We're always (ALWAYS!) looking for tech help at WMUC, so if you've got a technical mind and want to learn about what makes an FM broadcast station tick, you've got a chance to do so right here on campus. As an added bonus, we can guarantee that you'll be instantly popular here!

One student group, many ways to get involved! Come check us out!
